The Marionette Twins

I created these marionette twins to feel like they share the same origin but each has their own personality. Sculpted in ZBrush and textured in Substance, they were inspired by the classic theatre masks of comedy and tragedy. To give them a sense of age and eeriness, I used wooden texturing with peeling paint, making them look worn and weathered like old toys. One twin carries a deep scowl, with sharp green eyes that add to his bitter expression, while the other wears a wide, unsettling grin with glowing red eyes and a manic energy. On their chests, I included a Maltese cross—a personal touch that ties them back to my roots and adds another layer of identity to their design. Together, they embody the duality of tragedy and comedy, while their puppet-like form keeps them unsettling and strange.
